About Lok
Who I am:
Hi I'm Lachlan, a.k.a Lok. I am an illustrator, painter and graphic designer from Australia. I have worn many hats through life including Electrician, Horticulturist, Construction and short order cook to name a few. Throughout this lifetime of skill building, I have always created art in one form or another. I am a conscious hippy at my core and enjoy the natural world but also appreciate what humans can create.
What I do:
Pencil to ink illustrations, comic art, painting in various mediums, original art prints, graphic design and commission work such as ink and watercolour portraits, landscapes, and animals, both real and imaginary. I work in both digital and traditional but love ink and watercolour the most and not to mention that I am a qualified graphic designer and have been working professionally since 2020.
If you would like an ink and watercolour portrait all I need is a reference in digital, such as a scanned photo or your favourite social media selfie, just email me at lok@artbylok.com, and we can work out shipping, style and colours and the whole deal. A3 ink and watercolour portraits, start at $100.00 for the head and body with minimal background, a great gift or for yourself and the turnaround for the final piece is about a week at most.
Currently in need of publishing my first book which is completed and at a printable state due to being a professional and accredited graphic designer, and am creating 4 comic books and/or illustrated picture books based in the same universe. If you are a colourist, inker, letterer or comic book professional and am interested in getting involved please contact me and keep looking at this space for updated storyboard, process pages and character sketches. I do art in one capacity or another full-time, when i am not working I am drawing on the iPad and watching TV, sort of.
Life really is short, but I have filled mine with diverse experiences, skills and interests, many of which have pointed in an artistic direction and have led to living my dream.
